my first try at animating a centaur. I tried to make it a cycle. hope it looks ok :)
I will have to adjust the tail close to the end of the animation. it seems to just hang in the air a bit. will fix it when I start inbetweening :)
I hate the upper body >.< it almost doesn't move at all :( and it's annoying >.<
oh well...... :)
hope you like :D

hello! i myself and currently animating a centaur, and i've noticed most people don't seem to do much with the upper-body, as you mentioned
aniticipations and reversal of the spine (i've also got his shoulders moving back and forth ilke he might as if he were human)
though this is very good for a first try! very cute :)

@00:13Looks good, but maybe the arms could move something like a streetfighter character but not in a fighting pose. Maybe his arms are helping him balance, or maybe holding something. Just a few suggestions.

@00:13I have started redoing it, and I'm trying to give him a bit more movement in his upper body. I should have it finished soon :)

@00:13I think the upper body needs to 'bounce' more. Typically when a horse runs they sort of 'bob' their head, so I'd figure a centaur would at least bounce more when the hooves impact. See how the body remains at the same level on the frames? That's the problem. As the legs come under the 'body,' the upper body should move up more. Does that make sense? I hope it helps.... XD

@00:13What Razrroth said, His 'human' torso up is kind of dead as he runs. Watch a real person jogging or even just walking they do things with their hands that betray their intent. Also on your landing key make him sink into it a little more to give weight to the impact, now he lands with the same bend in his knees that he maintains as he runs. However overall its a very good start!

I will also try and give him more weight when landing :)

@00:13actually you're observation was good :) I'll keep that in mind and try and see what I can do about it :) perhaps I'll try and do another centaur animation and apply it there. it's quite bothersome to redo some of the drawings >.< so it's easier to redo it completely :D
thanks again :) I really appreciate it :)
