well this is the final project for my Traditional Animation class :)
Ignore the bad cropping.... if I would have cropped it any more it would cut off the drawing in some parts and it wouldn't look as good :)
hope you guys like :D no music because you can just play your own ;P
Also this was part of a group project so the beginning transition was supposed to overlap with the animation of the person before me :)

This is my favourite animation i've seen on here.

Just wondering if you've done classes in fx animation or does it just come naturally?

I didn't take any fx animation classes, and we aren't really taught fx either. I guess it comes naturally :) but I'm no expert :)

Well impressed! pity you have to do 3d though when your heart seems in traditional

I actually don't mind 3d. I've discovered a lot of things that I like about it :) but yeah, if i had the change to do some 2d animation I totally would :D

Ya i don't mind it either but i'd rather not waste my time getting mediocre at it when there's a chance I could get good at 2d, traditional animation seems lIke a lifelong endeavour but I suppose there are places where they would compliment each other especially doing 3d references for layouts. Suppose you have to do 3d in america. There's still good traditional stuff coming out of europe though. I think you're good enough to get into Gobelin if you wanted:)

well if I knew french I probably would have gone to Gobelin :D But alas... my search brought me to Ringling who hooked me first =P and I did want to do only traditional animation at first, but after I came here I started to realise that 3d isn't all that different in a way :)

Haha good point, i didn't factor in that one:) True, all the principles are the same but i find it's more like stop motion than drawing. You still see some great traditional done at the concept stage for 3d films too. I've nothing against 3d and digital really I just think its sad to see someone whose so talented with traditional media give it up to go into computers, not saying it'll happen to you but I've a friend whose the best draughtsman I know who became a graphic designer and probably hasn't drawn on paper in years now. Seems with 3d you have to focus on one narrow aspect though like texture or lighting or modelling...something magical about being able to create it with just a pencil and paper. Anyway i'll stop raving on and wish you good luck in whatever you do:)

I really like your animations. I don't do animation myself, but I am absolutely fascinated by these pencil tests and I really like the kind of themes and moments you create too. :) you are great!

hehe... good catch ;) I noticed that myself while animating, but because I had a very short amount of time to work on it and was cluttered with other assignments that where due at the same time I didn't bother to make adjustments :)
